Meet The Band

After working for many years as separate solo artists Steve and Alan decided to bring their wealth of experience together to perform the highly succesful show known as "The UK Chicago Blues".

Since starting the act they have performed at many corporate events and holiday parks throughout the UK, winning many awards for the show, developing a huge fan base and becoming one of the most succesful Blues Brothers Tributes Ever!, with their unique fun packed and tight harmony show.

With further development they are now avaiable with a superb, top class six piece live band.

Colin - Drums

Providing that swinging Blues beat. Colin started playing drums at the age of 4 after seeing his first band and being given a go on the drums. He played in school bands and joined Glam Rock band "Merlin" aged 15. Joined Soul band "Roots" with KWS star Winnie Williams and played in top cabaret band "Cagney". Recently backed artists and played with "Gerry and the Pacemakers". Formed successful Commitments tribute "The Kommitments" with current bass player Spike.

Spike - Bass Guitar

Spike tells us he started playing guitar at the age 14. He tells us that he quickly moved on to bass after snapping the two thinnest strings on his guitar! Spike is a well seasoned musician with lots of experience backing many artistes over the years. His smooth soulful sound is a product of playing with his old Fender bass and his love of blues and soul music. Spike just loves to groove with the music, so watch out for him strutting his funky stuff on stage.

Steve - Keyboards

Steve was classically trained on piano and semi- pro when 14yrs old. He has been Musical Director at The Commodore International, Nottingham and has worked in several other large venues with the resident band. Steve has worked along side many professional artists, including Bernard Manning, Bradley Walsh, Ray Lewis of the Drifters and Des Tong of sad cafe. Tribute bands include: Sounds of the Blues Brothers, Sounds of Commitments, Quicksilver (Queen Tribute), and The Commitmentz.

John - Guitar

John has played in a number of covers and originals bands over the years around Leicester and Nottingham. Most recently he was in the Commitmentz tribute band and also Nottingham based covers bands So Wot and acoustic duo The Persuaders. John's real love is the blues and as well as being the guitarist he has been persuaded to play the harp at the same time. He brings a bit of youth to the band bringing the average age of the band down to at least 45!

Alex - Trumpet

following in the footsteps of his father, a jazz cornetist, Alex started playing cornet age 7 with the highly successful Loughborough Band and became their principal cornet for several years before moving to London. He was section leader with the multi-award winning Kew Wind Orchestra for many years. Since moving back to the Midlands in 1999 Alex has played for many different musical groups including the Commitmentz.

Ed - Saxophone

Ed has played in a variety of soul, pop and jazz bands including a successful "Madness" tribute band . Ed plays both the Alto and Baritone Saxes and is a true master of his craft. listen out for them sexy notes! Having played with numerous star names Ed still shows his dedication and true professionalism to his music by practicing for many hours each day which shines through in all his highly polished performances.
